Carl is a 28 year old firefighter, married to Debbie. They have a son called Jason, who is a very lucky boy, to have a Dad with a day van with a Playstation fitted! Carl loves all American cars, and basically anything else that has wheels! The family enjoy camping all year round (hence the day van!), and have been to Florida, where they hired a Pontiac Sunfire GT convertible.
The Econoline is the first American car Carl has owned

Carl’s 1993 Ford Econoline E150 Day Van.
Carl says, ‘I part exchanged a Mazda MX5 for my day van. It’s my first Yank, but I’ve always been into them. I’ve owned it for 18 months, having bought it with the idea of going camping, but now I use it most days.
It has a 5.7 litre V8, with an LPG conversion, which I had done myself. It has four leather captain’s seats, plus a rear electric leather sofa bed. I replaced the Yank TV with a 14” Teletex TV (which was a pain to fit), and also fitted a DVD player and Playstation. The mood lighting is gorgeous, and it also has a Coca Cola bottle opener built into the back door. I’ve spent over £1000 on various parts and servicing, but it’s all been well worth it, as it drives lovely’.
