The Steve Perks Trophy.

Steve joined the Black Country AAC in 1988. There was never a dull moment with him around!

 On a club run out to a show at Cheltenham, Steve filled his Formula 400 Firebird up with diesel,

then promptly vanished in a cloud of thick black smoke! Later that year at the beer and skittles night,

Steve was presented with a bottle of diesel additive to remind him not to do that again!

Sadly, Steve passed away in 1994, Pauline and Martin decided to honour his memory

by presenting an annual trophy in his name to a club member who has achieved something memorable over the last year.

1996 – Bill Smith – for dedication to the club

1997 – Ian Hadley – for knowledge and support for the club

1998 – Chris Slater – for rescuing the ball from the river during the baseball match, and consistency and support.

1999 – Richard Davies - consistency and support

  Colin Ward – for buying an American car in the face of adversity.

2000 – Pete Cartwright - consistency and support

Paul Fawlk – for attendance and support

2001 – Paul Griffiths – for time and money spent on his Trans-am and regular support

2002 – Les Harris – supporting club and running disco’s at events

 Rob Tildesley – supporting club and running disco’s at events

2003– Mick Holmes – for buying/selling/buying /selling a 1983 Mercury Cougar!

2004 - Niki & Mark Foster - for setting up this website,

organising events and generally supporting the club.
